JUST ANOTHER DAY

So remember when I posted THIS little number about refrigerated biscuits last year? Well, I'm still deathly afraid of them. I think one of the Fred Meyer refrigerator stockers knew this and planted one right where he knew I would find it earlier this morning. While waiting in the checkout line, browsing through the kitschy key chains and clearanced jewelry, my soon-to-be-the-star-of-dinner refrigerated biscuits popped open. I mean I seriously saw the tin lid, used to seal the end of the can, fly right just below eye level and the first 3 biscuits fly in disarray across the bottom of my shopping cart. I wish I could say I remained calm, but I let out a scream, and then, after realizing what had just happened, I started laughing. The lady in front of me, the lady behind me with her daughter, and the checkout lady stared in awe as I held up what had just happened. As if on cue, they all started laughing. The checkout lady checked (imagine that) the expiration date they still had another 3 months until they were set to expire. She got on the phone and through bursts of laughter, managed to relay the message for someone to bring up another can. As I checked out and began leaving, the cashier, still with a grin said, "Lady, you've just made my day! Thank you!" I still don't know how I feel having my deepest, most inner fears out on display for the select Fred Meyer patrons, but I do know that after my initial shock, it really was pretty dang funny!
